TEACHERS
Małgosia Underwood (owner) - Pilates, Yoga, Body Harmony, Barre
Back in 2008 I fell in love with exercise and decided to gain Exercise to Music Diploma. Soon after I started teaching yoga fusion and combat style exercise to music classes alongside of my office job. When my daughter was born, I decided to teach full time and qualified as a Mat Pilates Specialist covering the areas of common orthopaedic conditions and pre- and post-natal exercises. I can help you with a slipped disc, hyper mobility, frozen shoulder, post abdominal surgery, and more. Having taught yoga blend classes for years, I ended up officially qualifying as a yoga teacher. You’ll see me teaching Vinyasa, which is playful and creative. I also added Barre to my offering which sits really well alongside of Pilates and yoga in its focus on postural alignment, strength and balance. My absolute favourite is Body Harmony. It has been long in the making, and I am excited to be able to share it with you. If you like to laugh, you can expect that from my classes. The atmosphere of our sessions is fun and relaxed, whilst I ensure we are exercising correctly and safely. |
Alice Turnbull - Yoga
I first discovered yoga over 15 years ago when I was “literally” dragged to a class by a friend. I never looked back! Having struggled with anxiety for many years, I was immediately drawn to yoga’s ability to calm my mind and strengthen and stretch my body. Since then, I have practiced, trained and taught all over the world and am passionate about sharing my love of yoga with others. With a background in medical research, my teaching combines a scientific understanding of movement, with personal experience of the balance and self-awareness that yoga can bring. I strive to create a welcoming and inclusive space, offering gentle flowing classes with options to challenge yourself as you feel drawn to. Fast forwards and I have now been teaching for nearly 10 years, hold a 200hr teacher training certification and additional qualifications in yoga for cancer. As a Dorking resident, outside of yoga, you will find me baking up a storm (it is always a good time for cake), walking in the beautiful Surrey Hills or pottering in my allotment. I look forward to meeting you on the mat! |
Wendy Scott (cover teacher) - Pilates, Yoga
I have lived in Dorking for over thirty years, bringing up a family and working in an estate agency. As my family is now grown up, I divide my time between UK and Mallorca. Having been passionate about exercise all my life, in 2013 I decided to follow my dream of working in the health and fitness industry. I first qualified as a Pilates instructor, quickly followed by Exercise in Water (Aquafit) and then Exercise to Music (body conditioning). Soon after I also took teacher training in Yoga, Barre and many more. I enjoy working with people and help clients reach their fitness goals, bringing a smile to every class and making exercise enjoyable as well as effective. As I am not in UK all year round, I do not have a regular class at the studio, but you are sure to meet me when I'm covering classes. You can also find me hosting fitness retreats at my house in Mallorca. |
